Looking Back at 2022’s Biggest Wins

The numbers are in! We’ve been looking over the data from Evolve’s work across the nation in 2022, and we’ve seen some interesting and positive trends that we hope to build on in 2023.

First, we’re doing more work in general, thanks to our national network of partner organizations and vetted contractors. The number of jobs requested by our members went up by more than a third last year, and jobs approved for work by more than 20%.

Most of those jobs were completed by the end of the year, in keeping with our goal of not only helping our members get the home and vehicle modifications they need, but also getting that work done right and in a timely fashion.

Our members needed a variety of improvements in 2022, with the more involved job of converting tubs to walk-in or roll-in showers the largest category, and the much simpler job of installing two or more grab bars the next-most-common service performed. Both of these “fixes” show that, often, the changes needed to make home safer and increase our members’ independence are quite straightforward.

Other popular service categories in 2022 were the construction of all sorts of ramps, both inside and outside homes, as well as the installation of various types of lifts and jobs that involve multiple services. The jobs we’re able to complete for our members also continue to increase in variety.

In 2022, our network completed more traditional tasks like widening interior doors, making safety-based repairs, remodeling kitchens, and installing handrails; and more innovative projects, like installing memory care security, performing asthma remediation, creating fence enclosures, and swapping in ADA-compliant fixtures. Evolve’s ever-growing national network of qualified contractors gives us great flexibility in meeting the diverse needs of our members.

And while we’re looking nationwide, Evolve also partnered with more firms across the country, including Healthfirst in New York; Highmark Health in Delaware; and in California, CA Health and Wellness, CalViva Health, HealthNet, Health Plan of San Joaquin, and CalOptima.

In addition, we inked 10 new partnerships in New York for Long Island’s Suffolk Independent Living Organization (SILO), helping with SILO’s Nursing Home Transition and Diversion and Traumatic Brain Injury programs. Each of these partnerships means we can bring more people the benefits of Evolve’s uniquely effective service model.

"As we reflect upon all that we've been a part of throughout 2022, we look forward to enabling the health and independence of many more individuals in 2023,” said Spike Cheever, Evolve’s director of business development. “We thank all our partners and the trust they've given us, the late hours they've shared with us, and the constant collaboration we've enjoyed as we work with their members.

“It is an honor for us to work with each member and help them remain independent and safe in the place they call home."
